Editor-in-Chief of the
Regulatory Rapporteur, Leslie Dowling, has stepped down from her role after 12 years at the helm of TOPRA’s respected international journal.
Leslie, who is Senior Director at tranScrip, gave a further five years’ service to the journal’s
Editorial Board, joining its’ ranks in 2005, only a year after the first
Regulatory Rapporteur was published.
“It is with regret that I have decided the time has come for me to step down from the role of Editor-in-Chief, and indeed from the Editorial Board entirely,” Leslie said.
“Now that the print journal has phased out… and the journal has become a fully online platform, it seems like a good time for me to pass the baton.”
On her decision to step down, TOPRA’s Chief Executive,
Kevin Pay said: “For the last 12 years, Leslie has been the mainstay of
Regulatory Rapporteur. She has guided its development, ensured its ongoing quality and guarded its reputation with a gentle seriousness we can all aspire to, but few of us rarely achieve. Leslie has the ongoing thanks of the whole TOPRA membership and wider family.”
Coming into the role of Editor-in-Chief is
Davina Stevenson of Gilead Sciences. Davina has been working as the Deputy Editor for eight years, on the Editorial Board since 2010 and has also overseen much of the journal’s contribution to TOPRA’s CPD output. Selected unanimously by the Editorial Board, and speaking about taking on the job, Davina said: “I have big shoes to try to fill and much to live up to. But this is an exciting moment of change for the journal as it starts to embrace the opportunities that digital publishing has to offer.”
Davina will be supported by
Jillian Stewart, who continues as Associate Editor for Interviews, and is joined by
Vickie Goff who assumes the position of Deputy Editor. Vickie said: “I am very proud to be stepping into the deputy editor in chief role, supporting the Regulatory Rapporteur is an amazing opportunity to give back to the regulatory profession and to continue to learn and expand my regulatory network.”
And taking up a new role of Commentary Editor is
Harriet Edwards who will be partnering with
Regulatory Rapporteur’s full-time staff, to bring less formal types of writing, and opinion pieces, to the platform.
“The recent launch of the
RegRapPod podcast – which compliments the formal, peer-reviewed articles – brings a new dimension to how we can serve the membership and the journal’s readership – adding new strengths to the platform’s content offering,” added Davina.
“However, the journal’s mission remains constant, to produce high-quality content for regulatory affairs professionals that provides relevant, timely, accurate regulatory information and shares regulatory knowledge in an accessible way.”
