Q: How did you feel when you were nominated?
When I was nominated, I didn't believe it and felt the need to reread the message because it sounded more like a fairy tale. It was a balance between amazement, astonishment, joy, and all rooted in deepest respect, honour, acceptance and infinite gratefulness to my senior management.

It gave me plenty of confidence from being recognised by our community of business professionals and experts. Besides being so delighted, I also felt a huge responsibility and the most exciting challenge I have faced so far, as excellence is a standard one must comply with and prove day by day.

Q: What did you enjoy about the awards ceremony?

I was amazed by the gorgeous location of the event, and admired the splendour of the location and tastefully selected decorations. It inspires a great deal of respect to know how thoroughly the event was organised and how accurately the timing was followed.

It was obvious that there was a lot of work behind it and the festive atmosphere was absolutely charming. I also enjoyed the opportunity to meet TOPRA peers who I have already cooperated with before, and to meet new professionals and experts and exchange experiences. I think that holding such an annual event is marvellous. It's a motivational boost to be part of something incredible and unique to your profession.

Q: How has your career change since being nominated?
It has certainly boosted my confidence and motivation. It is a great feeling to be valued and respected. It helped me to reflect on my achievements over the last five years, and to consider some of the great things I had done in my daily work, which I didn't think of as achievements before. This nomination has encouraged me to participate in professional events, poster and oral presentations over the next year. So for me, the best is yet to come.

Q: What would you say to encourage people to nominate their friends and colleagues for the awards?
We are who we are due to the ones who appreciate us. A way to encourage people to outperform is to show confidence in their potential which they usually lack.

One elegant way to appreciate the colleague you admire in his daily work is to nominate him for these prestigious awards. This is an honest and noble gesture that a professional will remember for the rest of their lives. How could there be a higher appreciation of an outstanding professional?
