Science Council launch 2022-2025 strategy

Posted on 7 February 2022

The Science Council has launched its strategy for 2022 to 2025, setting out a clear direction and vision for the future of the organisation.

Its four core objectives are:

Registration and licensing

A commitment to maintaining and improving professionalism in the science workforce through professional registration.

Community and membership

Continuing to promote best practice, facilitate knowledge exchange across their membership community, and collaborate with partners to strengthen the professional science community’s collective impact.

Policy and influence

An aim to become a more visible, supportive, and influential presence across the sector, and serve as a conduit between their diverse membership and policymakers.

Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI)

For several years, EDI has been a core objective for the Science Council. This has now been recognised in the new strategy which acknowledges that EDI is fundamental to everything that they do.

As part of this objective the Science Council will work with Members and other suitable partners to increase the representation of under-represented groups on the registers and across science more widely.

We are delighted to continue our work with the Science Council and support their vision for the future of their organisation and the greater science community.
