The deadline for nominations for Board positions available in 2020 has now passed. By the due date, one nomination was received for President-Elect and a total of seven nominations for four vacant Director positions. Thank you to all members who have put themselves forward and their peers who have supported them.

ALL members (excluding Students and Honorary Members/Fellows) can now have their say and select who they would like to represent them on the Board in 2020 to take our organisation forward.

There are four Director positions so you can vote for up to four candidates.

Top tips 

  • Do not simply vote for the person you know
  • Think about what value the candidate will add to the TOPRA Board
  • Consider what particular skills and experience each candidate can bring to TOPRA
  • Reflect on how each candidate can help TOPRA achieve its strategic goals

I was honoured to be voted onto the TOPRA Board for the 2018–2019 term and during that time, I have had full exposure to the workings of the Board and the role it plays in governing the activities that TOPRA undertakes on behalf of its members and stakeholders. I would like to build on this work in the role of President, to leverage my consultancy background to shape TOPRA's strategic path, promoting excellence and innovation, and striving for global reach.

Personal statement:
If elected, it would be a privilege to further contribute, based on my experience from:
• academia (PhD and post-doc in drug delivery)
• regulatory agency (MHRA: 18 years working with medicines and medical devices)
• medical devices industry (small MD companies and MedTech SPIN steering group)
• medicinal products industry (co-authoring EBE/EFPIA reflection papers on regulation of combination products; attending key international conferences on quality issues for current and emerging medicinal products and technologies)

I have a passion and enthusiasm to bring people from different backgrounds together - for sharing experiences, understanding different perspectives and collaborative working towards appropriate, risk-based and pragmatic regulatory solutions.

Personal statement:
I bring 24 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 15 years in a regulatory CMC position supporting small molecules and biologics. I have developed an in-depth knowledge through regulatory submissions, meetings with regulatory agencies and engagement in the external regulatory environment. Through my volunteering activities with TOPRA (CMC SPIN, Regulatory Rapporteur, CMC CRED course, past EU Board representative) I have had an opportunity to understand the organisation and the benefits it brings to regulatory professionals. With this knowledge and experience, my past commitment to TOPRA and ongoing contributions, I believe I can assist TOPRA via membership of the board.

Personal statement:
My passion is influencing change to improve health equality worldwide, so patients and consumers live longer healthier lives. Regulatory professionals facilitate products from ‘bench to bedside’ - we can ‘make a difference’. 

I am grateful to have served the TOPRA Board since 2018; I have insight to how TOPRA operates and am actively engaged on our long-term vision for the organisation including how to better enable the regulatory professional in an ever-evolving environment. 

Being re-elected would be an honour; I would continue to leverage my industry expertise and bring continuity to the Boards strategic planning – driving regulatory excellence beyond 2020.

The recognition of Regulatory Affairs as a professional and philosophical discipline is very close to my heart.   The rapidly evolving fields of medicine, needs innovation and creativity to navigate the challenging regulatory world and liberate treatments, bringing them to patients in need quicker and with a lower cost burden.  

I have benefitted in understanding regulatory through my interactions with established TOPRA names, and if elected I would leverage my broad regulatory education across the varied multidisciplinary environments to enable TOPRA’s vision to support and promote the profession ensuring the regulatory excellence of TOPRA remains a continuous legacy to the profession.

Personal statement:
We do what we do for our patients. I feel strongly about patient engagement in the healthcare ecosystem. This has driven me to become a Board member for aPODD Foundation, a non-profit. Digital technologies also increasingly shape our environment. Addressing such influences will ensure TOPRA is fit for the future.

Having lived and worked across Europe, I champion diversity and multiculturalism. I don't shy away from a challenge.

With 25 years in the industry, including Board-level experience, a passion for regulatory strategy and a desire to contribute, I'd be honoured to be considered for a TOPRA Board Director position.

I would like to serve as a TOPRA Board member as I believe that my European background, coupled with my professional experience, gained over the last 20 years, enables me to be a genuine ambassador for European and UK members alike in these changing times.  Over the past ten years, I have volunteered for TOPRA activities at various levels and understand the importance of listening to the needs of TOPRA members.  I believe that I can appropriately voice these needs at Board level and provide relevant strategic input to the Board to help shape the future of TOPRA.

Personal statement:
I have extensive experience in regulatory affairs gained working for nearly 25 years in different roles first as a regulator and subsequently in mid-to-large sized biopharmaceutical companies. I value being a Fellow of TOPRA and have volunteered in different activities over a number of years. I would bring broad experiences to the TOPRA Board and value the opportunity to support and contribute to the profession that contributes greatly to healthcare.
