The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA) is pleased to announce a partnership with the Association of British Healthtech Industries  (ABHI). TOPRA is the global membership organisation that represents professionals working in regulatory affairs, while ABHI is the leading membership body for the healthtech industry.

The two organisations have formalised an agreement to work together to develop and deliver services that will mutually benefit their respective members, with the ultimate aim of improving the understanding and commitment to excellence in medical device regulation globally.

ABHI will also facilitate a TOPRA course on medical devices for apprentices in Scotland, and there are also plans to develop an assurance framework for regulatory affairs professionals. Shared objectives focusing around sustainability will also be tackled.

Kevin Pay, TOPRA Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted to launch this initiative with our respected partner, ABHI, which seeks to leverage the synergies between regulatory affairs and healthtech to better serve our audiences, especially those members who specialise in the domain of medical devices.”

Peter Ellingworth, ABHI Chief Executive, said: “Never before has there been a more important time to be involved in healthtech regulation, as we go through a generational change in how medical devices, diagnostics and digital health products are regulated for patient safety and public health. ABHI is proud to work alongside TOPRA to promote excellence in healthtech regulation globally, and we look forward to enhancing work between our organisations on a range of subjects related to regulatory science.”
