TOPRA announces future strategy and leadership team

At TOPRA’s Annual Review Meeting in Dublin on 1 October, President Nick Sykes thanked all who helped deliver on the TOPRA 2020 strategy despite the challenging economic and geopolitical environment.

“A year after celebrating our 40th anniversary, TOPRA has introduced a series of ‘firsts’; including our first cohorts of apprentices, our first Employer Champions, and our first programme for supporting African regulators,” explained Sykes. “We will now build on these successes and have today launched our new Strategic Plan, which will take us to 2025 and beyond.”

Sykes also welcomed new TOPRA Board members who will take up their positions from 1 January 2020 and announced the appointment of Kevin Pay (pictured) as Chief Executive from 1 October 2019. He will take over the reins from Lynda Wight, as she retires as Executive Director – a role she has held for over 20 years.

“It has been a privilege to be TOPRA’s Executive Director and to serve the regulatory community for so long,” said Wight. “Together we have developed TOPRA into a professional body – which supports, encourages and celebrates the contribution of regulatory affairs professionals worldwide. The new strategic plan we have crafted will continue these commitments in a way that is fit for the future.”

Kevin Pay added: “I look forward to leading TOPRA in the delivery of the ambitious goals and investments outlined in the new strategic plan. We have a superb foundation to build on, an excellent team in place and a great deal more to contribute to the development of the profession.”
