Current position and relevant professional experience:
I joined the pharmaceutical industry as a regulatory non-clinical expert and R&D pharmacist more than 20 years ago. Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with large and small companies in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and functional food sectors.
I provide strategic (mainly as a non-clinical expert) and regulatory advice for the development of different candidate products to client companies and in many instances liaise directly with Competent Authorities on behalf of client companies.
Ten years ago, I co-founded and serve as a Board Director for Salupont Consulting Ltd, a company registered and located both in UK and Italy. As a Director of the company I have responsibility, under guidance from specialist advisers, for ensuring compliance with legal and financial aspects according to company law in UK and Italy.
Current or previous involvement in TOPRA activities:
At the end of 2011, I assisted in setting up TOPRA in Italy to support regulatory professionals living and working in Italy and to provide a forum for discussion and networking. I have been the Chair since its inception and have organised a number of networking activities in Italy and also with other European colleagues. These events have successfully provided a useful and productive link for companies, CROs, academia and consultants.
During 2017, I was a member of the TOPRA Professionalism Committee and I provided strategic input regarding membership, qualifications, apprenticeships, Chartered Scientist (CSci) and continuous Professional development (CPD). In 2018 spurred on by these activities, I became one of the first Chartered Scientists.
Personal statement:
I would like to serve as a TOPRA Board member as I believe that my European background, coupled with my professional experience, gained over the last 20 years, enables me to be a genuine ambassador for European and UK members alike in these changing times. Over the past ten years, I have volunteered for TOPRA activities at various levels and understand the importance of listening to the needs of TOPRA members. I believe that I can appropriately voice these needs at Board level and provide relevant strategic input to the Board to help shape the future of TOPRA.
